Quiche

Ingredients

  • 1 pie crust (homemade or store-bought)
  • 4 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 3/4 cup whole milk (180 ml)
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream (120 ml)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 8 to 10 slices fully cooked bacon, chopped (about 3/4 cup)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (100g)
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced green onions (15g)

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (204°C). Roll out pie dough and fit into a 9-inch pie plate. Chill crust for 15–20 minutes.
  2. Line crust with parchment or foil, fill with pie weights, and bake for 15 minutes. Remove weights and parchment/foil, then bake 5 more minutes. Set aside to cool slightly. Reduce oven temperature to 350°F (180°C).
  3. In a large bowl, lightly beat eggs. Whisk in milk, cream, salt, pepper, and garlic powder until just combined.
  4. Sprinkle bacon, cheese, and green onions evenly in the partially baked crust. Pour egg mixture over top. Gently move mix-ins for even distribution if needed.
  5. Bake at 350°F (180°C) for 45–50 minutes, or until set and the center is no longer jiggly. Let cool at least 20 minutes before slicing.
