Ingredients
- 1 pie crust (homemade or store-bought)
- 4 large eggs, at room temperature
- 3/4 cup whole milk (180 ml)
- 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream (120 ml)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 8 to 10 slices fully cooked bacon, chopped (about 3/4 cup)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (100g)
- 1/4 cup thinly sliced green onions (15g)
Steps
- Preheat oven to 400°F (204°C). Roll out pie dough and fit into a 9-inch pie plate. Chill crust for 15–20 minutes.
- Line crust with parchment or foil, fill with pie weights, and bake for 15 minutes. Remove weights and parchment/foil, then bake 5 more minutes. Set aside to cool slightly. Reduce oven temperature to 350°F (180°C).
- In a large bowl, lightly beat eggs. Whisk in milk, cream, salt, pepper, and garlic powder until just combined.
- Sprinkle bacon, cheese, and green onions evenly in the partially baked crust. Pour egg mixture over top. Gently move mix-ins for even distribution if needed.
- Bake at 350°F (180°C) for 45–50 minutes, or until set and the center is no longer jiggly. Let cool at least 20 minutes before slicing.
